Athletic Club for the Psychical Handicapped
Athletic club of Psychical Handicapped was established in spring 2001with
assistance of SK IMPULS and Sokol Královské Vinohrady. The graduates and
pupils from special and practical schools practise here. The membership is
not limited by the age. The training is focused on general athletic and
special preparation for individual disciplines. The club has four trainin
groubs for the present – juniors- general preparation, sprint – jump,
running, throwing- hurling. The sportsmen are selected into the groups by
their own interest and physical skills for individual disciplines.
Each group has itś own qualified instructor (educationalist from
special school) and professional expert school in the problems of
psychical handicapped athletics. In summer time, we practise at
athletic stadion Sokol Královské Vinohrady, Polská 1, Praha 3. We have
here 400m long runneś track, sectors for long a high jump, thowerś
sector and athletic fitness club for use. In winter time, we practise
in fitness club and hall at the same place. We practise also on
stadion in kindly weahter. We can also use hte swimming pool in the
area of Sokol every Saturday.
The
membership costs Kč 350,- for half a year. The sportemen
také part in region and also national competions organized by
ČSMPS. In case of their extraordinary results, they can qualify to
international meetings. The Athletic club of Psychical Handicapped
Sokol Kralovské Vinohrady organized the national champinship of
psychical handicapped in Czech Republic in yaer 2001 at Strahov
stadium
